ISSUE 02 - Where Weeps the Silver Williow
At long last, Issue 02 of Dark Eye Glances is live. Where Weeps the Silver Willow features 16 poets and 30 new poems compared to our premiere issue with 10 poets and 19 poems. That’s almost a 50 percent increase in the amount of editorial content.

The delay from our originally scheduled launch in October is, however, more about artistic quality than editorial growth. With each issue, our featured poets are raising the bar and inspiring Dark Eye Glances to continue seeking the best works of dark poetry and lyrics from around the world. In our first two issues we have published poets from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdon and Southeast Asia.

Our philosophy is to promote the poets and their work, which is why we list our contents by author’s name first instead of by poem titles first. All of us have our own favorite authors, and we believe that by cultivating poets in Dark Eye Glances we are helping build the bonds between readers and writers. Nevertheless, having a poem published in one issue is no assurance that we will publish other works by the same author in subsequent issues, but we are committed to developing our own professional relationships with our authors. We want them to succeed in our pages and beyond.

In 2011, we plan to publish a print anthology featuring the best poetry from Dark Eye Glances, and we will also be interviewing at least one author in each issue to give them an opportunity to share the story of their life and their craft with readers.

If you are an author of dark poetry or lyrics and would like to see your work published in Dark Eye Glances, please follow our Submission Guidelines carefully. Due to the increase in submissions we can no longer afford the time and effort required to “fix” incorrectly formatted poetry or advise potential contributors that they forgot to include something in their submission.
