Submission Guidelines for Dark Eye Glances
NOTICE TO READERS AND CONTRIBUTORS:
Nov 12, 2011 – Dark Eye Glances is now accepting submissions for its new print anthology to be published in early 2012. We will be closed to new submissions on Dec 1, 2011, so all submissions should be in our inbox prior to that date or they will be returned.

INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS:
- FREQUENCY: Dark Eye Glances will be publishing its first print anthology in the first quarter of 2012.
- POETRY THEMES: Dark Eye Glances a journal of dark poetry and lyrics. We publish poetry that incorporates overtly dark, dramatic, metaphysical and psychological themes and language. Please keep in mind that we may not accept even the finest poetry if it doesn’t suit the tone of the publication.We publish ALL FORMS of quality poetry and lyrics, although we may show some preference for poetry that is rhyming and metrical. We are not accepting any fiction or non-fiction at this time.
- POETRY FORMS: We will consider ALL FORMS OF QUALITY POETRY. For rhyming poetry or lyrics, the rhyme scheme need not be present in all lines or stanzas.
- READING OR SUBMISSION FEES: No submission fee or reading fee is required.
- TERMS & RIGHTS: Only copyright owners (the original authors) may submit their own, original work. Plagiarism or copyright infringement of any kind will result in a lifetime ban from the publication. Upon written acceptance we will ask you to review an agreement by email and respond to it as your digital signature. We ask for persmission to publish the work on the DarkEyeGlances.com website in the most current issue as well as archive the work for an indefinite period. After it is published once in a single issue, you may request for it to be removed from our archives if you wish. We regret that Dark Eye Glances does not pay authors any fees at this time. If an author’s work is selected for the print anthology we will send you a contract and offer a free DIGITAL copy of the anthology.
- RESPONSES/READING TIME: We will only acknowledge submissions if they are accepted for publication. We cannot promise how quickly we will respond to submission(s), but simultaneous submissions are acceptable provided authors disclose whether the work is scheduled to appear somewhere else.
IMPORTANT: PROPER FORMAT FOR SUBMISSIONS:
- Please submit all poetry/lyrics in a single batch within the body of an email NOT as an attachment (attached documents will be rejected) to DarkEyeGlances@gmail.com.
- We will NOT read or consider hard copy submissions sent by postal mail or courier.
- At the TOP of the email, please include your full contact information: author’s real name, the name the author wishes to be published under, his/her mailing address, telephone number and preferred email address. Please do NOT use Time New Roman font in your email body as TNR is an ugly font. ;-D
- Immediately BELOW the contact information, please include a current author bio (written in third person) and your website(s) address, if you have one. Please state whether any part of the work being submitted has been previously published, and if so, whether it has appeared in print or digital format or both. (We may not accept previously published work that has already been published in print as we are looking for new, original work for this book.)
- Please attach one or more photos of the author–headshots are acceptable, but not required. Authors may send their favorite photos of themselves, provided the photos are of a good quality and professional-looking. If your work is accepted we will use this photo alongside your poetry.
- You may submit up to a MAXIMUM of 3 (THREE) poems of any length. However, only one email submission per author, per issue, will be accepted.
- Please BOLD all poem titles and include your name as a byline below each title, NOT at the bottom of each poem.
